About Demitasse

Demitasse is Alastair Cooke, the company was  formed in July 2006 as I returned to self employed contracting, it is a one man company where I am the owner and the product.

Demitasse is based in the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand however most of my work life involves travel away to where there are more people, usually in New Zealand or Australia.

Services Provided:

  • Delivery of VMware authorized training courses through VMware or Authorized Training Centers
  • Delivery of Consultancy services around VMware products
  • Writing of technical articles or papers around Datacenter and Desktop virtualization

Right now my main customers are VMware and HP with a little work for smaller organizations close to where I live.

  • VCP5 – VMware Certified Professional vSphere 5
  • VCP4 – VMware Certified Professional vSphere 4
  • VCP3 – VMware Certified Professional Virtual Infrastructure 3

  • VCAP4-DCA – VMware Certified Advanced Professional, Datacenter Administration
  • VCAP4-DCD – VMware Certified Advanced Professional, Datacenter Design
  • VCP4-DT – VMware Certified Professional – Desktop, View 4
  • VCA4-DT – VMware Certified Associate – Desktop, View 4

In the last couple of years I have become involved in the community around VMware’s products and organize ways for the community to meet, either through the APAC Virtualisation podcast or local meetups like vBeers.  In recognition of this I was honored by VMware with vExpert status for 2011, which has resulted in even more effort on helping the virtualization community in my region to get together.
